Tratosphere
Articles | Artists Spotlight

Tratosphere is a live trio band from Switzerland.. The connection between these three talented guys creates a rich and diverse spectrum of psychedelic spacey Dub, funky jazzy atmospheres and Downtempo Ambient drifts. Quirky and strange, deep and electrifying , the music of Tratosphere is well produced and cleverly composed. The trio released two albums and currently finishing the final stages of a new one. ( will probably be released on Peak records ) but still not 100% sure. More info about the new album will be announced soon.
Releases: 'Puls' is Tratosphere's first studio production and it flows smoothly from track to track. A one hour long piece of music divided to four parts, flowing together like a tale with four chapters. So when listening to ' Puls ' it feels like listening to a one long track. From IDM to relaxed Ambient, from funky jazzy bits to trancey rhythms and some trip-hop grooves, this album is delightful from start to end. ( released in 2001 ) 'Bazar Bizar' is the trio's second album and it's one of the freshest and most colorful albums of the last few years in this turf of music. 'Bazar Bizar' provides a beautiful journey. With this album the trio delivers a wider rainbow of psychedelic fabrics with the emphasis on the more spacey Dub side. The funky jazzy atmospheres are still here, more groovy, psychedelic and quirky than before. The Ambient Chillout moments are also still here and in a deeper smoother way. In some places in 'Bazar Bizar' you can also feel some exotic, oriental magical influences that fit really well in the compositions, adding a sense of mystery. ( released in 2005 ) These three guys developed a very individual and unique style that contains a lot of depths that can be revealed only by listening again and again, which is not a difficult thing to do, because the music of Tratosphere simply captivates the listener slowly and surely. Both of Tratosphere's albums were released on Rubbish Records, which is a record label from the UK that doesn't exist anymore, but you can still get a new copy of both albums directly from the Tratosphere website.
