The long awaited third studio album, from duo Daniel Segerstad & Johannes Hedberg aka Carbon Based Lifeforms is finally here. After having released a couple of mediocre tracks on various compilations and a modestly interesting EP, has it been worth the wait? The question to that answer has to be answered in a positive way, or rather in jubilation.

I love artists where you don't have to think about the quality of the release, these artists inherits such a skill in artistic production of music, so even if they come up with something radically different than anything they've released before, you know that you can shove it into your cd player and be sure that if you don't like it at first glance, it's not the music doing anything wrong, it's you not understanding what the artist has accomplished.

There is definitely more of a traditional reggae sound to some of the tracks. However, the album still retains the trademark style that Evan has displayed on previous releases. You have to hand it to Interchill yet again by bringing in guest vocalists and live instruments they are proving a dab hand at taking established electronica producers to the next level.
If you’re going to buy one album this month you can’t go far wrong with “Lovesongs To The Source” in my opinion this is the best release I’ve heard so far this year.
