Aleph Zero Records is one of my favorite labels, because it always keeps surprising me. If you are like me, meaning, you like new and exciting things all the time, you like your music to take you to new places and realms, then Aleph is the best bet. Just keep an open mind! Dark Room Beats is a perfect example. It's just… well… totally different. The different tracks are very different from each other, you can't point to a certain style and say it fits the whole compilation. It's electronic, it's not dance music proper, and that's it really. Oh, and one more thing - it's all very very psychedelic. Each track in its own way. And the whole album is a real smooth journey with all its diversity.

Solar Fields - [Altered] Second Movements PDF Print E-mail

About one and a half year after the release of Movements comes Altered, Second Movements from music producer, artist and sound designer Magnus Birgersson aka Solar Fields. Everyone should be familiar with his works or you have some serious reprimands on your list. As the name suggests this is not an entirely new album but a remake of Movements. When Leaving Home was released an additional album Extended was released, although Extended was a separate piece of musical creation and not a remix of Leaving Home they seem to exist in the same complimentary symbiosis as Altered and Movements. The truth is that the original album has been overhauled to such a degree that an untrained ear wouldn't know it was a remix.

The long awaited third studio album, from duo Daniel Segerstad & Johannes Hedberg aka Carbon Based Lifeforms is finally here. After having released a couple of mediocre tracks on various compilations and a modestly interesting EP, has it been worth the wait? The question to that answer has to be answered in a positive way, or rather in jubilation.

I love artists where you don't have to think about the quality of the release, these artists inherits such a skill in artistic production of music, so even if they come up with something radically different than anything they've released before, you know that you can shove it into your cd player and be sure that if you don't like it at first glance, it's not the music doing anything wrong, it's you not understanding what the artist has accomplished.

Bluetech - Love Songs To The Source Review PDF Print E-mail

There is definitely more of a traditional reggae sound to some of the tracks. However, the album still retains the trademark style that Evan has displayed on previous releases. You have to hand it to Interchill yet again by bringing in guest vocalists and live instruments they are proving a dab hand at taking established electronica producers to the next level.

If you’re going to buy one album this month you can’t go far wrong with “Lovesongs To The Source” in my opinion this is the best release I’ve heard so far this year.
